Stephen Kings IT Lighting Analysis

As George looks down into the sewer back lighting is used making it seem as though the sewer is a dark place. As the clown appears in the sewer under lighting is used to illuminate his face  as that is the only lighting again re enforcing that the sewer is a dark and dangerous place this type of lighting is often used in horror films. Also Low key lighting is used on the antagonist to give him a sinister and dark tone this is also commonly used in horrors and will attract audiences who are fans of the horror genre.

In the image above we can see that top lighting is used to highlight the protagonists facial expressions of fear. Back lighting is also used in the back to connote that they are walking away from safety. Key light is also used in this shot on the left person as a shadow is created around his face this could be done to make him seem more distorted then the rest.

Beyonce's Perfume - HEAT

This specific advert catches many peoples attention as Beyonce is one of the most famous celebrities in the music industry. Therefore, having her picture on the front of an advert cover captures millions of peoples attention to then go and purchase her product. Also, the image of Beyonce is her looking directly at the camera as if she is talking and sending out a message to everyone that has been drawn to this perfume. This could also come across as a montage.

Moreover, the image of the perfume is placed on the bottom of the right hand corner with a glow behind it which connotes its importance promoted by an important person. Also, the colours used in this particular advert is mainly red. In this perspective, the colour red comes across as quite seductive as the pose Beyonce is doing is quite revealing showing some cleavage. This captures peoples attention as men are likely to buy it for their partener/wife. The textography is written in big bold capitals right at the top of the advert which may indicate that people must buy this product as Beyonce is under the text beside the product.

The camera shot used for this advert is a mid angle shot as only half of her body is shown. This conotes that more of her upper body is noticed as people are to be focusing on her face and upper body. Due to Beyonce showing cleavage people are likely to be drawm into purchasing her product as men would wait their loved ones to smell as sexy as Beyonce. In addition,  women want to be like her which denotates that they are most likely to buy her perfume.

Furthermore, the lighting is focused on the perfume and the famous well-known 'Beyonce'. This is to show importance to both the product and celebrity engaging the audience to purchase the perfume.

Kidulthood

Analysis of the opening scene of 'Kidulthood'

The beginning of Kidulthood starts with a close camera shot of a teenage boy playing football it slowly zooms out with great focus which slowly blurs out and turns into a normal scene at a normal pace. The slow motion could have been to amplify how the teenagers have forgotten their values in a slow way, as they have began to take harmful drugs and behave very badly in society. There are three boys shown at the start wearing dark colour hoodies and they could be known as "hood rats"

Throughout the whole scene there was a lot of voices we couldn't hear, there was like a over voice, which kept overlapping everyone's voices and there was a lot of noises which then meant everyone was muttering.

Kidulthood emphasises on the societies ideology and values of today. The society see teenagers as bad people, they belief they are very dangerous and could harm anyone. Kidulthood is an example of why the society feel this way as teenagers cause fights and harm other students.

Media Studies

Media studies

I chose media as an A Level as I have done loads of research on this partiular subject and have found that it seems to be a very exciting and interesting subject to take.
After doing loads of research it made me understand what media is all about such as film making, making short clips, trailors etc. Again, this made me choose media as it interests me how trailers are made. Also, I might want to consider taking it at university if my grades are as good as I expect.
Moreover, I learnt that media isn't all about making videoclips but is also for the means of communication. Media is a subject in which I could express myself, its a creative subject which would allow me to tell my peers around me how I feel about certain things.

Media has a lot of career opportunities, which I may consider in the long run, depending on how well I progress within this subject. I am very determine to learn about the Media as everyone has a part to play within the Media and its interesting knowing about other peoples lifestyles and what they Media believe about it.

Media Studies A-level includes a lot of coursework which I believe I'm good at doing, I would like to achieve a grade A or above for all my coursework and practical work I produce. For the exams I want to achieve a grade A, hopefully my overall grade will be above a B.

Exorcism

The exorcism of Emily Rose analaysis

The film 'The exorcism of Emily Rose' is a horror movie based on a true story. The main point of the film is seeing how a woman gets possessed and how abnormal things happen to her whilst unaware of what is going on around her. This poster is extremely eyecatching as the word 'exorcism' is the most largest word on the poster which engages the readers attention. Moreover, the picture indicates the girl's problems as she is walking toward a gloomy area.

The tree fading away is a way of reflecting the audiences perceptions as it highlights the ambiguity as the audience cannot see further than the tree which connotes they don't know what is going to happen.
The gloomy colours used to make the character evident, the colours used are similar to fog which could imply the audience cannot see what is going to come as they are blinded.

The font stands out, it is a redish black which could represent danger, also the E from 'Exorcism' is in capital and it is the name letter of the girls name, this could show importance. Moreover, the colour red could suggest murder as red usually has a connection with blood. This may lead the audience to thinking someone is going to die; not only by the colour of the title, but of the word itself. Additionally, the word 'exorcism' captures the audiences attention due to it's powerful meaning; possesion. However, it could also mean that there is an evil spirit around which would tend to be targeted at people who like watching horror movies. Thus, people who are interested to find out what happens to someone who is possessed and therefore makes the film more intriguing as it says 'based on a true story'.

Moreover, the type of shot used is long shot which allows the audience to get the right perspective of the subject. The lighting is focused on the whole poster however certain parts are faded; which connotes a mystery and more sincere side of the story. In addition, due to the lack of visibility, the audience is brought to question the enigma codes intended by the director.

The clothing used to represent her character is a filthy white robe which connotes carelessness and a foul lifestyle. This may suggest that there is a meaningful past behind her story as to why she is dressed in a gruesome robe walking in the middle of nowhere. The camera shot of the character is viewed from the back which also connotes enigma codes as the audience is unable to see a front on profile.

The significance of the lone tree in the distance represents loneliness or possible independence; this links in with the primary character denoting a similar fate. The characters shoulders are in a tense position which connotes fear and tension.
