Ill manors questions.

a) What are the typical codes and conventions of film trailers - what information is usually provided?
The typical codes shown within film trailors are usually the ideology and iconography which tends to hint what the film is about and what it's got to do with it. For instance, if the iconography was a weapan such as a gun, it portrays the violence within the film and possibly foreshadows the consequence and ending.
b) How are trailers distributed? 
They pay for the trailer to be shown in cinema. then are able to pay for the actual film to be shown in cinema.
c) How does Ill Manors use trailer conventions?
The audience are able to identify the genre by the iconography shown in the trailor; which in this case is a gun. This leaves the audience to get an understanding of the film and would expect there to be villians, police, violence, etc. Ill manors have used drugs and weapons in the trailor conveying the negativity in the film. Also, the audience are left to suspect criminals in the film which hints the genre.

d) Who is the target audience? 
The target audience for ill manors is C/D which are mainly teenagers and young adults.
e) Does it have a unique selling point or use particular techniques to appeal to the audience?
The film had particular techniques where it included enigma codes, action codes and ideology in the films film cover. this was conveying the violence and struggle within the film.
f) Consider the way the scenes are edited together – does the trailer give away any clues about the narrative? 
the trailer gives it away that the narrative has something to do with drugs. also, violence within the film because of the focus on the gun.
g) Are the main stars visible in the trailer? 
The main stars Plan B is a famous rapper which many young people know of. this influences people to watch the video as the theme of struggle is portrayed. also the background music is of Plan B rapping about peoples deprived lives in the council estate getting themselves into drugs etc.
h) Is there information about the director of the film?

i) Is there information about the release date? 
6 June 2012 (UK) j) Is a narrator’s voice-over used? 
The narrators voice is heard in particular parts of the film when he raps about different themes in life.
k) How has the genre of the film been represented through characters, settings, lighting, colour, music, camera shots/movements/angles and editing?

The iconography shows that the narrative has got to do with crime, although the use of setting and music portrays it has got to do with teenagers who have got themselves into the wrong path in life. shows struggle in their lifes hence they're involved with drugs. the lyrics in the background music talks about life. talks about how people are how the are because of their lives at home. the characters are shown as hoodrats, indicating the stereotypical view on teenagers nowdays.
